A China Legal Team Built for Cross-Border Business

International clients need more than translated legal opinions. They need Chinese legal advice that is accurate, commercially aware and capable of being executed locally. LI&SHI China Counsel was built for that purpose.

Our Story

Bridging International Business with China Legal Expertise

LI&SHI China Counsel brings together China-qualified lawyers with experience across commercial disputes, intellectual property, employment compliance, data regulation and investment transactions. We advise international companies, investors and entrepreneurs on legal matters connected with China, with a particular focus on practical execution in Guangdong and other key business regions.

Our role is to help overseas clients understand the realities of Chinese law and procedure. That includes identifying risks early, explaining the likely path of a matter, selecting the right legal mechanism and coordinating local execution. We do not treat cross-border work as a translation exercise. We treat it as a strategy, communication and execution challenge.

Our clients include foreign-invested enterprises, technology businesses, consumer brands, manufacturers, distributors, investment entities and founders. Whether the matter involves a China trademark issue, an employee termination, a data transfer review, a debt recovery action or a market-entry structure, we aim to provide advice that is legally rigorous, commercially useful and easy for international teams to act on.

What Makes Us
Different

China execution

We understand how Chinese courts, regulators, registration authorities and counterparties operate in practice.

International communication

We explain Chinese legal risk in clear English, with enough detail for overseas management, counsel and boards to make decisions.

Commercial judgement

We focus on outcomes, cost, timing, enforceability and business continuity, not legal analysis in isolation.

Regulatory currency

We track changes in Chinese law and enforcement practice, especially in employment, data, IP and foreign investment.

01

Professionalism

Every matter should be handled with preparation, discipline and a clear strategy. We aim to be the team that understands the facts, the law, the procedure and the commercial objective better than anyone else in the room.

02

Integrity

We tell clients what we believe, not what sounds most reassuring. If a claim is weak, a strategy is risky or a timeline is uncertain, we say so directly and explain the alternatives.

03

Regulatory Currency

China’s legal environment changes quickly. Our advice is based on the law and enforcement practice as they stand now, with particular attention to developments in employment law, data compliance and cross-border regulation.
